Moral evaluation is a moral activity which estimate values between good and evil to make clear the attitude of praising or blaming, according to the certain moral standards, public opinions and people’s own belief. With the rapid development of modern economy, material civilization is greatly improved while spiritual civilization has halted, and sometimes delayed. Recently, a number of moral events occurred and after that, people can not help sighing with the moral decline, thus the state of social ethic worries everyone. Many elders still miss the social morality when Mao Zedong was in power that people can open their doors at night and find their lost things on the street. This is due to the education of Mao’s Ethic Concepts, in which Mao’s moral philosophy plays an important role. Traditional Chinese Culture, Marxist dialectics and materialist conception of history have an effect on Mao Zedong’s moral philosophy. He put forward the concept of the unity of motive and effect by combining Marxist dialectics with reality and gave the right answer to the methods of moral evaluation by using the standard of good and evil as well as the revolutionary Utilitarianism. In the new period, the three terms leaders Deng Xiaoping, Jiang Zemin and Hu Jintao respectively put forward the principle of both material and spiritual civilization, Three Representatives theory and the socialistic concept of honour and shame--eight honors and eight disgraces. These theories are not only expound principles and criteria of Mao Zedong’s philosophy of Morality, but also are the enrichment and development of it. Mao Zedong’s moral evaluation has an important direction in morality construction. Firstly, it takes the interests of the people as the starting point. Secondly, it should keep pace with the times and reflect the Spirit of the Time. Besides, we should strengthen the mainstream values perspective and the ability of judging whether it is good or evil.
