The change of Sino-Japanese diplomatic relations is closely related to thereplacement of the Japanese Cabinet, and the diplomatic relations between China andJapan has an important role in changing the situation in terms of the situation inNortheast Asia, Asia-Pacific and the world as a whole, so it seems particularlyimportant to study the diplomatic relationship between China and Japan. The fact thatDemocratic Party of Japan came to power has brought a trace of a new dawn for thediplomatic relations between China and Japan. During the period of ruling, the foreignpolicy of Democratic Party of Japan toward China has had a greater change, but theUS-Japan alliance has not changed, but still taken the strategy since the time LiberalDemocratic Party. Particularly the formulation of policy toward China dealing withthe Diaoyu Islands issue, the understanding of history, the Taiwan issue and otheraspects appear to be different from those of the LDP. This study focuses on the policytoward China during the administration of Democratic Party of Japan. By researchingon different Prime Ministers’ foreign policies toward China during the administrationof the Democratic Party, the factors influencing China’s foreign policy, as well as theimpact on China’s foreign policy, the paper describes the obstacles to thedevelopment of Sino-Japanese diplomatic relations and prospects Sino-Japanesediplomatic development. The paper first discusses Japan (LDP) China’s foreign policy, influencing factorsand the constrainting factors on affecting the development of Sino-Japanese relationsduring the post-Cold War (1989-2009). Then it concentrates on the diplomaticphilosophy and foreign policy of the Democratic Party after different prime ministers(third regime)came to power, such as Hatoyama Cabinet’s "idealism" diplomacy,Naoto Kan’s "realist diplomacy," Noda Cabinet "radical realism diplomacy," so thatthe paper analyses the main elements of its foreign policy, influencing factors andeffect evaluation. Meanwhile it also includes the analysis of the conflict of the rulingDemocratic Party of Japan and the limitations constraints of the Democratic Party’sforeign policy toward China, which includes both domestic constraints andinternational environmental constraints. The fact that the Democratic Party has notruled for a long time and the continuity of policy has not been strong, and has beeninfluenced by a variety of potential factors has led to China policy limitations. Finally, the paper holds the analysis on the effect of foreign policy of the Japan’s DemocraticParty, and interpretes the impact on the ruling Democratic Party’s foreign policytoward China from the aspect of Japan relations, Japan, US-Japan relations, and otheraspects of the situation in Northeast Asia, and finally prospects on the Sino-Japaneserelations.
