The Generation Of And Countermeasures Against The University Teachers’ Moral Hazard

Moral hazard, a common phenomenon, is spreading in many fields, whose wideexistence always leads to the lack of resources and the lowering moral standard. Theuniversity teachers’ moral hazard is a mix-up of the university teachers’ morality and moralhazard， which obviously presents itself in the university teachers’ teaching. To some degree,moral hazard reflects the morality, which is explained on the basis of the theory of moralhazard in this study. It analyses the generation of the university teachers’ moral hazard fromanother point of view, which, on the one hand, extends the theoretical uses of moral hazard,and on the other hand, expands the horizon of the theory about the teachers’ morality. Theuniversity teachers, the subject of the higher education, function as both a guide to theuniversity student and an engineer of the human soul. However, some university teachers areseen as benefiting themselves as the expense of others, having a negative influence on thedevelopment of the university students, the competitive power of the higher education andrealization of the strategy of strengthening our country by education. It is high time that muchshould be done about the countermeasures against the university teachers’ moral hazard.Nowadays, some scholars have done some research, but lacking system andcomprehensiveness, so the university teachers’ moral hazard is a new topic well worthstudying.According to some research done and on the basis of literature review, some points areput forward. The concept of the university teachers’ moral hazard is redefined and its attributeand bad effect are presented by combining the basic theory of the moral hazard and theuniversity teachers’ working. It summarizes the phenomena of the university teachers’moral hazard mentioned in the literature, analyses the generation mechanism and causes ofthe university teachers’ moral hazard, suggests the countermeasures and finally points theweakness of this study.
