Values means that people in a certain historical period of time to the position value ofthe sum, perceptions and attitudes, including value standards, beliefs, values, norms.Values are core elements of State ideology and culture construction, is the leading socialideals, faith, spirituality, the inner soul of culture. Hu Jintao at the Eighteenth NationalCongress of the Communist Party of China in the report by "promoting a prosperous,strong, democratic, civilized, harmonious, advocate for freedom, equality, justice, the ruleof law, promote patriotism, professionalism, integrity, kindness" of Socialist core value.Contemporary China is in an important period of transition of traditional society to amodern society. In the course of establishing a socialist market economy, a variety ofleading values and its culture advocated by the country’s dominant values, such as theformation of a common situation, coexistence, values conflict intensified, even moralphenomena such as landslides, loss of belief, value lost. Correct analysis of socialdominant value in social transition challenges, system of constructing dominant values inline with China’s national conditions, can provide the correct policy in practice in sociallife, so as to promote the coordination of economic, social and human developmentThis article is based on Marxist theory, and on contemporary society in transition ananalysis of necessity and feasibility of constructing dominant values, to explore the path ofconstructing dominant values of society. Aimed at integrating theory and practice in adeeper understanding of the social construction of leading value on the basis of this issue.This article is divided into five parts. Part one focuses on the meaning of value, values,analysis of the meaning and function of social dominant value and constraint.
