Research On The Network Media’s Corresponding Tactics For Public Crisis Of The Goverment Of Guangdong Province

With the rapid internet development, internet media has become a significant channel ofexpressing, expediting, and centralizing public opinion in social life, and “networkingsubsistence” is becoming an important life pattern. Our country is in a particular developingperiod to transit economic and sociality. This period is not only a critical developing stage,but also a period with sharpened contradictions, as there are many uncertain factors toinfluence the social stability, and unceasing public crisis, social security crisis, and frequentlyoutburst public crisis which is in a wide range of areas, great scale, break with tremendousforce, and tended to have stronger destructive power. With the transmissibility of the internetmedia, the impact of an event will keep increasing, this brings higher requirements togovernment on the ability of dealing with public crisis. Therefore, one of the most importantissues to be solved in public crisis management is how to effectively cope with networkmedia.This thesis is guided by the scientific outlook on development, targeted at to build aHarmonious Society; also has combined the basic theory of public administration, masscommunication, information science, public relationship science, crisis management,E-government, etc. Besides, it also takes the methods of Positive versus Normative analysis,problem and cause analysis on the example of how should Guangdong government deal withinternet media when facing public crisis, which tactic should be adopted.There are five parts of this essay. First part–introduction, stated the researchbackground and method of the selected topic. Second part is to discuss the concept of publiccrisis management and internet media. It starts from theory, knowing one’s own strength andthe enemy’s will help on the Gaming. In the third part, we will analyze the typical examplesof how governments deal with internet media in public crisis, also to analyze the behaviorcharacteristics and the problem in it from theory with reality. The fourth part will lead us todiscuss the successful and failure experience of the government at home and aboard indealing with internet media. Based on that, we will further explore the effective tactics of ourgovernment in the same circumstances, to achieve a stable and effective mass communicatingrelationship among government, network medial, and the public. The fifth part is theconclusion.By classifying the element of network media, and combining their characteristicrespectively, this essay has outlined how the network media takes an important part to spread information during public crisis. In addition, it also brings out the effective principle andtheory on how should the government takes advantage of the network media, and currentlywhich aspect should be improved. Hope that this essay could offer some references to theGuangdong government on how to deal with the network media effectively in the publiccrisis.
