| Human’s social being and historical being is dependent on the relation between subject and truth in western history. According to constructing government and its analyzes structure, Foucault committed to study the movement relation between subject and truth in western history, also its evolution path. Government is a conduction of nation’s or human’s conduct, which includes two forms:the government of others and the government of self. The government of others meant to national governance and individual governance conducted by the games of truth, and the government of self meant to self-governance by self-technique. The game of truth is a subjectivation committed by the apparatuses consist of power and knowledge. It turns human into its objects to the truth apparatuses based on the operation of micro power and humanities, and skillfully control and safeguard human and his living. Self-governance is an operation of changing and creating his new status of sprits and body in order to constructing the truth about oneself, and is also an objectivation of self-convert and self-rebuild. Foucault named it spiritual. These two mechanisms take Cartesian rational subject and conscious subject as a historical boundary. The technique of self-governance dominants previous the relation between subject and truth, and the games of truth dominants the subsequent.In Foucault’s old age, he focused on the studies of aestheticization and stylization of self-governance. He redefined enlightenment and critique, and affirmed enlightenment as the transcendence of philosophical temperaments. He took self-governance which aims to self-care into the category of philosophical life. Self-care is free practice of ethics. Self-governance which aims to self-care means take one’s living as an artwork to carving and improving it. Foucault’s aesthetics of existence affirms alternative living and transgression, and also as a measure to resisting modern politics technique conducted by the games of truth. |
