Historical materialism and Materialist dialectics are the core ideas of Marxism. Thosetwo seem to discuss the important role of matter in social development. Actually, they focuson a deeper level to the relationship between people, and the problems he wants to solve arethose issues of human being. Engels has explained that it is not to belittle the superstructurefor their too much reference to the economic function in “To Joe, Bloch”; on the contrary, they attach great importance to the worldwide effect of ideology and culture. At that time, theimpetus to put so many words on the economic base is the global ignore of the economicpromotion to the world. Thus, those too much emphasis on material promotion by Marx andEngels come of the academic atmosphere at that time, and they have set a high value onhuman’s problems. Further, the equality concept of Marxism is just the relationship betweenhuman beings. As the fast development of our society and economy, kinds of inequalities insociety begin to follow, such as the widening income gap between members of society, between urban and rural, between east and west and among different industries. In addition, the legal construction of society is facing a serious challenge and democratic system andsocial morality is under constant challenge. In such circumstances, the issue of equality withinthe community has been a hot topic all these years of. Marxist equality bore out of theinequalities of the corrosive capitalism. Hypocritical capitalist equality is in embodiment ofwrapping its ugly appearance with human rights, decorating itself as a sacred institution bylaw, talking about the theory of equality without a substantive reciprocity to the people, defending its unreasonable privileges of capitalist society by treating equality as justice, which has fully demonstrated the hypocrisy and concealment of capitalist equality. Marx andEngels have criticized the hypocrisy of the capitalist society with indignation and set up ascientific concept of equality, which is viewed as the proletariat’s own equality, from theperspective of historical materialism. Although Marx is no long at our time and his view ofequality was brought in his age, Marxism that is open and developing has not lost its activityover time, and the current social phenomena can still be solved by Marxist theory. The societyis constantly changing, while as Marx said, the fundamental driving force of socialdevelopment is social productive forces, so as long as we focus on the relationship amongproductive forces, productive relations and the equality issues in social development, solutions to sorts of unequal issues will come to us. Thus, Marxist concept of equality willbring us practical keys to solve current social inefficiency and inequity.
