China has always attached great importance to the development of e-government. since1980s, the county has launched a series of major information projects, which made great progresses of e-government. With construction of service-oriented government going in depth, information resource sharing has gradually become the focus of e-government. As a large province in east coastal region of China, Shandong province start the e-government very early, and so did the information resource sharing some encouraging progresses have already been made, but there are still many urgent problems.At the beginning, this paper describes the background and the significance of the research, then discuss the relevant research results home and abroad briefly, and then gives the research ideas and methods. Secondly, this paper defines the concepts of e-government、information resource and e-government information resource sharing, and then introduces the theories of public goods、information sharing and government information publication. Thirdly, the paper summarizes the current status of e-government and information resource sharing in Shandong province, analyzes the problems and the reasons. Forthly, the paper summarizes the successful practices of e-government information resource sharing in U.S.A.、U.K.、Sweden and Canada. Finally, the paper gives some measures and suggestions to promote the e-government information resource sharing in Shandong province.The research finds that the development of e-government information resource sharing in Shandong province is well, and there are many favorable factors, but unfavorable factors remains also. Shandong must deepen the reform of the administrative system, perfect legal system, improve supervisory mechanism, utilize advanced technique, and break bottlenecks in order to and promote the e-government information resource sharing to go further.
