Causes Of Formation Of Democracy Politics In Ancient Greek From The Ocean Environment Vision

Throughout the history of the world, geographical environment is very important forhuman society, especially the special ocean environment has an profound influence on ancientGreek.Ancient Greek is characterized with numerous islands, networks of waters anddensely-constructed ports which caused serious shortage of agricultural resources when thepopulation increased quickly. In order to survival, early Greeks have to go to abroad to find anew way. From the8th century BC, the Greeks began an extensive overseas settlement. But atthe same time, the special ocean environment has provided a favorable case for voyage.Through frequent commercial trade, on the one side, it had promoted the development of theindustrial and commercial economy in ancient Greek, on the other side, it had expanded thepower of Business slave-owner which is helpful to struggle with aristocratic slave-owners andestablishment of democratic politics.This thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter mainly introduces the uniquemarine environment and the overseas settlement for several centuries in ancient Greek.Though the settlement, it had promoted the development of the industrial and commercialeconomy and expanded the power of Business slave-owner. In the advantage of geographicalenvironment, ancient Greeks are bold, enterprising, strong national spirit and nationalcharacter, which built ideological foundation for the democratic politics.The second chapter mainly introduces the discrete pattern of Polis, which caused by thespecial ocean environment and the reason for discrete pattern of Polis. Crisscrossingcontinental sea condition divided Greek into several parts. More geographical centers lead tomore economic centers, more economic centers lead to more political centers. It hasintensified the division pattern. But at the time of the social environment, the division patternof Polis became the only available form for democratic politics.In the third part, we mainly discussed the establishment of navy construction in ancientGreek. Though the war, the Greek navy forces had got much stronger. We can say, there aremore advanced reasons between the establishment of democracy politics and the navyconstruction. The democracy politics has brought the most appropriate military system for thenavy, at the same time, the development of the navy has also promoted the democracypolitics.
