Civic education can be interpreted as the education, which cultivate all the socialmembers to be qualified citizens for society in the future. The quality of a country’scitizens is not only the basis of a national rejuvenation and development, but also animportant symbol of a national modernization. with the rapid development of ourcountry reform and opening up and globalization, communications between ourcountry and the rest of the world are in deepening, and because of the influence of thedeveloped countries, our country’s civic education is being highly valued. The reportof17th party once stressed:" strengthen citizen consciousness education, establishsocialist democracy and the rule of law, freedom and equality, fairness and justice." Ina sense, that pointed out the direction of civic education, and opened up a newprospect of socialist political civilization. Due to factors such as historical andtraditional, along with the shortcomings of our country’s political system, democracyand the rule of law can not be consolidated, and the civil consciousness of citizens inChina still relatively backward. Therefore, it is very important to cultivate the highquality of modern citizens and strengthen the implementation of civic education.To some extent, the civic education shoulders the important mission to cultivatequalified citizens. As the eligible builders and reliable successors, teenagers are themost development potential of the whole society citizen groups, there is little doubtthat make them become qualified citizens of modern society. Therefore, in the newhistorical period, we should continue to strengthen and improve the civic education ofteenagers, to cultivate them to be the qualified citizens with good quality and moderncivic consciousness.on the whole, improve the consciousness of the rights andobligations of their own, sense of social belonging and responsibility, and guide themtoward a healthy growth. To strengthen and improve teenagers civic education is notonly related to their health development of body and mind, even relates to the successof China’s modernization and the great revival of the Chinese nation. So when we arepaying attention to the economic and social development, we should also payattention to how to improve teenagers quality and how to train them to be qualifiedsocial citizens, the problem of teenagers civic education will be a new subject in thefuture. This paper put the marxism theory of dialectical materialism and historicalmaterialism as the basis of methodology, integrated use of literature method,comparative analysis, comprehensive analysis and other research methods, andcollected massive related literature and data, make a preliminary study on theprinciples, objectives, contents and ways of Chinese teenagers’ civic education. Thatnot only enriched and developed the theoretical basis of civic education, but alsoplays a guiding role in civic education practice.
