The vast rural areas in our country are in the process of urbanization. The farmer is the main part of this reform who plays the key role in urbanization. With the development of urbanization, these social problems gradually revealed.The proposed of new urbanization is based on the construction of our country in the past few years which neglected the subjectivity of farmers. The urbanization of people is the core content of the new urbanization, the main purpose of urbanization is to achieve the comprehensive change from farmer to citizen. This change not only includes the change of identity, also contains the way of life, way of thinking, the transformation of political ideas. It means that the reform of urbanization will changes the farmers from the traditional to the modern citizen’s overall. When compared with traditional farmers, modern citizens should have certain civil consciousness, have a certain political behavior. The modernization practice of western countries shows that the cultivation of the modern citizen consciousness and political skills of ascension requires the political system carry out political socialization effectively.First of all, this article first defines the concept of relevant and describes the functions of political socialization. Causes of farmers’ political socialization above present situation mainly includes two aspects:on the one hand are objective reasons. Main show is the urbanization of the rural economy, politics, political culture, the impact of the changes of social environment, in turn, affects to the way, content, and the effect of farmers’ political socialization; On the other hand is a subjective reason. Main show is farmer’s age, family economic income level, culture degree of impact on political socialization effect.
