China's Production Safety Accidents Concealed Causes

The supervision and administration of production safety is an important part of the work of the government. The effectiveness of production safety has a direct bearing on people’s lives and property safety, and the hard-won fruits of the National Reform, the image of the Party and the government in the eyes of the people and in the international community, as well as the stability of the Party’s ruling status. Nowadays, with China’s rapid economic development, the Party and the government pay more and more attention to production safety; The five systems of the production safety has been basically established. Though great attention has been given to production safety, safety related accidents still happen, many of which are serious one. In the meanwhile, concealing and misrepresentation on accident reporting has become a problem. In order to reduce production safety accidents, prevent concealment and misrepresentation on accidents, the government issued several policies and adopted a series of measures, but with little success.It has become the focus of public critique that behind the concealment of production safety accidents there are collusions between various interests of the business and the government officials. As individual rational economic entities, parties involved pursue the ultimate goal of maximizing one’s own interest, though these interests are not necessarily the same. Therefore, by using the game theory, this essay studying of after safety accidents, the game among the national and the local safety production and the enterprise concerned is of practical significance.
