Burden distribution is one of the important operating for upper condition adjustment on blast furnace. The burden distribution system directly determines whether the burden distribution is reasonable in blast furnace throat. The distribution condition of burden will direct effect the distribution of gas flow and the heat exchange and the reaction between gas and solid in BF. It’s also an important factor to affect the utilization ratio of gas and the quality of hot metal, to ensure smooth and stable operation in BF. So, based on the burden distribution rule of bell-less BF to build a model which can reflect the relationship between burden distribution system and burden distribution condition will have great help for practical production.An accurate distribution model need build on the basic of production operating date and opening measured parameters of BF. In this paper, the top structure of BF, the properties of burden, the experience of burden distribution and the burden trajectory in actual production were considered. With the stress analysis and the motion analysis of the burden, a mathematical model of burden distribution was established. Not only the burden falling trajectory, but also the mechanism of burden surface growing and the process of burden surface formation were described by the mathematical model. This paper also collected and analyzed the structure parameters, the the production operating dates and the opening measured parameters of two specific BF of a company. Based on these dates and the mathematical model, a simulation model for burden distribution was established by VB programming. The simulation model simplified the complex calculation process of mathematical model, but also implemented the visualization of mathematical model. It’s easy to obtain many calculation dates such as burden flow impact point, burden bed thickness, radial ratio of ore to coke (O/C) and so on by the simulation model. With the calculation results obtained by the simulation model, the reasonable of the burden distribution system of No.6BF and No.3BF were analyzed.There are many factors affect the distributing result, such as batch weight, size of chute, properties of burden, depth of stocke line and so on. By adjusting the parameters of simulation model, the influence of each factor to distributing result can be analyzed easily. Through combined the production condition with the analysis of effective factors, the best burden distribution system can be assumed. The application of simulation model can help reduce the difference between the burden distribution which have been used on BF and the best burden distribution. Help burden distributed more reasonable in blast furnace throat. Then improve the utilization ratio of gas, help production operators make sure high-quality, low-consume, high-yield, smooth and stable operation of BF.With the calculation results obtained by the simulation model, it found that the burden distribution matrix of No.6BF used in the past could lead to gas flow develop edge too. It could increase the lining erosion, and not conducive to the maintenance of the BF lining. Further more, some burden impacted with furnace wall to increase powder burden, the permeability of burden layer turned bad. But the burden surface formed with the burden distribution matrix of No.6BF used now is more reasonable than ever, except it may overly promote the development of the center gas flow to reduce the gas utilization ratio of gas. No.3BF still in use the single-ring burden distribution, the burden distribution matrix used now result the coke pile tip distributed farther than the ore pile tip from the center of furnace throat. In this way, the coke pile tip may prevent the ore distributing to the furnace edge. Especially when the burden layer collapse, more ore will be distributed to the center of furnace throat, the permeability of burden layer in the center may turn to bad.
