Coconut charcoal fiber is a new kind of functional fiber which has excellent adsorption, deodorant and healthcare performance.It is necessary to research and develop coconut charcoal fiber fabrics in order to make full use of abundant coconut shell resources, and also to produce environmental, healthy and ecological textiles.On the basis of testing and analyzing the basic performance of coconut charcoal fiber, the spinning process parameters were discussed with spinning of five blend ratios (0/100,0/70,50/50,70/30,100/0) of coconut charcoal fiber/cotton blended yarns; meanwhile, the yarns were made into5pieces interlock knitted fabric with same process parameter as experimental samples. In this paper, the yarn properties, the mechanical properties and comfort performance of the fabrics were tested. The comprehensive performance evaluation of the blended knitted fabrics was judged using the grey cluster analysis. The results showed that the blended yarns have better quality with higher ratios of coconut charcoal fiber, and better comfort performance. As increasing of the content of coconut charcoal fiber, the bursting performance, abrasion resistance, drape, softness, permeability, warmth retention property, and wet performance of the blended knitted fabrics will become better and better.In this paper, the gas and liquid absorption of coconut charcoal fiber/cotton knitted fabrics were intensively studied. In this experiment, ammonia and methylene blue was selected as the adsorbents to test the static state and dynamic state adsorption properties. The effects of the blend ratio, fabric layer, initial pH, Sun exposure and washing times on the absorption behavior were discussed. It comes to the conclusion that the fabrics have better adsorption of ammonia when the content of coconut charcoal fiber is higher; coconut charcoal fabric have the maximum adsorption of methylene blue when the blend ratio is50/50with the same parameters; increasing fabric layers and improving the pH value of the solution, can enhance the adsorption ability; Sun exposure and water washing all can regenerate the adsorption ability of the fabrics.The researches of the comfort performance and the absorption properties of the coconut charcoal fiber/cotton blended fabrics in this paper will provide the basis for the designing and development of the coconut charcoal fiber fabrics.
