Mulberry fiber is a natural green functional fiber which has excellent moisture absorption, warm and antibacterial properties. It is necessary to develop mulberry fiber products in order to take advantage of waste resources mulberry branches, and also produce a healthy eco-textiles.Wearability was tested by researching the blended knitted fabric.First, on the basis of testing and analyzing the basic performance of mulberry fiber, the spinning process parameters were discussed with spinning of six blend ratios(0/100,10/90,20/80,30/70,40/60,50/50) of mulberry fiber / polyester staple fabric blended yarns; meanwhile, weaving the first five parameters of five-sided plain weft knitted fabric as the experimental samples.Secondly, the tensile properties, elastic properties, evenness and hairiness of the yarn were tested. The results show that: with the increase of the content of mulberry fiber, the breaking strength and elongation of the blended yarn decreased linearly. The breaking strength of the blended yarn(50/50) compared with pure polyester yarn fell by 54.1%, the elongation decreased by 12.5%, while the elastic recovery rate also fell 38.6 percent, and the evenness of blended yarn worse, the harmful hairiness increases.Third, the mechanical properties of the fabric and the thermal and moisture comfort were tested. The results show that: with the increase of mulberry fiber content, the bursting strength, wear resistance and permeability of the mulberry fiber / polyester staple fiber declining, but the different of drape is small. Fabric(40/60) compared with pure polyester fabric bursting strength declined by 32.7%, the permeability decreased by 11.8%; with increasing fiber content of mulberry fabric, the warmth of fabric showed first increased and then decreased, when the content was about 20%, the warmth of fabric was best. With the addition of mulberry fiber, the capillary effect of vertical and horizonta more obvious. Compared to pure polyester fabric the breathable performance of fabric(40/60) increased 148.2%.Finally, Wearability was evaluated via gray near optimal comprehensive evaluation method. the wearability with 40% mulberry fiber is best in summer. Fiber with 40% mulberry is fit for coat and fiber with 20% mulberry is fit for underwear in winter.Properties of mulberry fiber polyester/short fiber knitted fabrics provides a certain design basis for the application of mulberry fiber related products.
