Taking a vehicle clutch as the research object, using the method of multi-body system dynamics to study the basic properties of the automobile clutch. First of all, establish the three-dimensional geometric models for the clutch cover assembly and driven disc assembly; On this basis, according to the working principle of the clutch, establish the models of multi-body system dynamics for the cover assembly and driven disc assembly; Then, carry on the finite element simulation for the models of multi-body system dynamics, and obtain the bonding force of the clutch, the separation characteristics of the clutch, such as the relationship between separation force and separation stroke, the relationship between pressure plate lift and separation stroke, the deformation of the clutch cover under the bonding and separation state. And obtain the torsional stiffness characteristics of the driven disc assembly, such as the relationship between rotational angle and rotational torque of the driven disc. At the same time, carrying on the experimental study for the separation characteristics of the clutch and the torsional stiffness characteristics of the driven disc assembly. And comparing the simulation results of multi-body system dynamics with the test results. The research results show that the method of multi-body system dynamics are useful to research the dynamic characteristics of the clutch.During the process of research, also researching the elastic characteristics of the waveform spring and the spring stiffness of damping spring in clutch driven disc assembly. For the waveform spring, using the methods of multi-body system dynamics and the calculation of empirical formula to analyze its elastic characteristics. According to the experimental study to verify the simulation results, and the research results show that the method of multi-body system dynamics and the calculation of empirical formula are useful to calculate the elastic characteristics of the waveform spring; For the damping spring, using the method of multi-body system dynamics to calculate its spring stiffness, and it is concluded that the size of the spring stiffness is close to its actual size; And using the method of multi-body system dynamics to analyze the stress distribution of the driven disc window, which is extrused by damping spring, and obtain the rule of the stress distribution. These research results can be used for product development and design.
