GDP growth is getting slower and China is beginning to seek changes in the economic structure. Grid users is still growing demand for electricity, while electricity elasticity also increased dramatically. Therefore, the degree of automation of distribution networks need to constantly upgrade. Basing on the degree of distribution automation to strengthen the power factor to improve and strengthen the protection, proceeding from the practical application,this thesis researched and designed an control system of intelligent Distribution Transformer Terminal to improve the quality of power supply and protect the grid by controlling capacitor switching and intelligent switches.This thesis described the development process of TTU, the basic structure consisting and basic principles of control system of intelligent Distribution Transformer Terminal, analysed functional requirements of the system and proposed design program. Also provided detailed analysis and explanation of control function、and communication of the system.In the system control module introduced the design of each master chip peripheral circuit design and the corresponding driver. Functional modules in the system analyzes the precisely calculating of the power parameters and combined connection method for compensation capacitor, designed a new squares capacitor switching algorithms and processes,analysed the malfunction of grid, added intelligent protection,designed input-output circuit to reduce the inrush current and avoid arcing. In the communication module for UART, GPRS and other communications interface circuits and software design are described in detail.After the system hardware, software debugging and commissioning functions, successfully achieved improving power factor by controlling capacitor switching and protecting grid through smart switch, meanwhile remote master station can monitor and control in real time. As an important part of distribution automation, the control system of intelligent Distribution Transformer Terminal enhanced the quality of the grid while strengthening the safety performance.
