Agriculture, so-called basic industry, has a direct influence on the rise or decline of secondaryindustry and tertiary industry. At present, agriculture in China is in a key-turning developing period ofthe transition from traditional agriculture to modern agriculture, while its weak basis on agriculturalinformation network infrastructure,the specialized talented person deficiency and its developmentlagging of information service have restricted the development of modern agriculture seriously. Theimprovement of agricultural information service system and an acceleration on agriculturalinformatization construction have become the important measures in solving Chinese rural problems sofar, which are also the principal methods on the boost of rural economic development in FujianProvince and the key to enhance comprehensive competitiveness of Fujian agriculture completely,leading to a vital strategic support. Firstly, our paper sums up the development status quo analysis ofagricultural extension service system construction at home and abroad; secondly, we point out ourtarget on this research and its critical problem, combining with classic theories of agricultural extensionto find out the main research framework; at length, we strive to look for the development route onmodernization and informatization of agricultural extension service.Nowadays, there are several problems such as low efficiency and backward development ideas inagricultural extension information service system construction in Fujian Province. So it is significant todeeply study the efficiency of Fujian agricultural extension information service system. At first, wedescribe the development status quo and exiting problem of agricultural extension information servicesystem in Fujian Province, comprehending the theories of agricultural extension and agriculturalinformatization and information service system. Then, we make use of the Methods Data EnvelopmentAnalysis to establish an evaluation index system, respectively analyzing the Fujian statistical data eachyear and comparing Fujian Province with other areas, to assess the efficiency levels of agriculturalextension information service system in Fujian Province and seek the gap between Fujian and otherdeveloped areas. At last, we find that agricultural extension information service sectors in FujianProvince lack coordination, there is no enough feedback mechanism between farmers and ruralinformation promoter, data transmission speed is low, Information web services platform infrastructureis far from perfect, modem communication network is short of wide coverage, the present educationlevel of rural promoters are not high enough, promoting system building and formulation of laws andregulations need to be strengthened. As a result, we put forward some suggestions from education,information quality, agricultural extension information service system building and the developmentsof rural informatization.
