Dangyang is in the midwest of Hubei Province,and located in the south of themiddle and lower reaches of Ju and Zhang RiVer.It is the transition zone of thewestern Hubei Mountain and Jianghan Plain.According to the new partition ofdialects (Li Lan2009), Dangyang dialect belongs to Ezhong of Huguang district ofthe southwestern Mandarin.Full text is diVided into six chapters. Chapter I,"Introduction", briefly describesthe diVision, the research of Dangyang dialect and the meaning and methods of theresearch. Chapter II,"Introduction to Dangyang dialect", describes the historical andcultural background and the phonetic system of Dangyang dialect. Chapter III focuseson the usage of auxiliary words, such as,"Zhe","Qi","Zai","Dao", in Dangyangdialect. The fourth chapter,"Suffix" focuses on the usage and meaning of "Ba" and"Zi". The fifth chapter,"Verb Reduplication", focuses on "VVX" and "VXVX"inDangyang dialect. As "V Yi Xia" has the grammatical meaning of the verbreduplication in Dangyang dialect, it is also be included in the scope. The sixthchapter,"Double-Object Sentence", focuses on "S+V+Odirect object+Oindirect object","S+V+Oindirect object+Odirect object" in Dangyang dialect. The focus of discussion is thetype of the verb and the order of the object.
