Lu Yao Novel Research Ideas

As a renowned writer, the literary heritage Lu Yao left us contains his exploration and thinking on the novels in addition to the epic text itself. His essays, interviews and other articles, not only records his artistic ideas, but also expresses his deep understanding on the novel, involving many issues during his authoring process. Only in this way can a more comprehensive understanding on Lu Yao’s position in the history of contemporary Chinese literature can be achieved.This paper is into two parts, the first part is to define and explain the concepts of several novel ideas; the second part is the main part of this paper, which is, presenting more comprehensive exposition on the concept of Lu Yao’s novels. The innovative ideas in this paper can be summed up in one sentence-applying Lu Yao’s own words to more comprehensively card and refine his concept of novels. The specific content has following aspects:first, discuss the background social environment and literature environment under which Lu Yao’s novels concept formed; second, interpret the concept connotation and forming causes for " cross zone between urban and rural ", and combine with Lu’s novels creation practice for analysis; third, interpret the concept connotation of "no example" character involved in the novels, and combine with Lu’s novels creation practice to confirm it; fourth, study the basic connotation of "End theory", and analyze the creation practice of Lu’s novel from two angles-"outcomes" and "end"; fifth, discuss the "intervention-type" novel narrative, and combine the practice of Lu Yao’s novels for specific analysis.Anyway,"cross zone between urban and rural" is the theme positioning and main described area of Lu’s novels, reflecting the social basic features in the early Reform And Opening Up period; the shaping of "no example" character is to deliberately perform the character’s complexity;"End theory" is the wash-back against traditional "happy outcomes" mode, to stress complexity and continuity of social contradictions;"intervention-type" novels narrative method is the supplement for "third person" narrative method, enabling the author to be cutely intervened into the narrative site. Such consolidation constitutes the concept of Lu Yao’s novels. It can be seen that the concept of Lu Yao’s novels is shown in both his essays and creation practice, the relationship between which is exactly the unity between theory and practice. The concept of Lu Yao’s novels is the reflection on novels since the Foundation of New China, which also formed on the basis of his novel creation experience, therefore, Lu’s novels are of exploration, practice and progress to a certain degree.
