At present, because of our country in economic construction has achieved rapid development, the dual economic structure between city and countryside in our country. The problem of uneven development between urban and rural areas increasingly obviously. Such as urban and rural residents in income, education, and public service as well as serious gap. Imbalance of urban—rural relationship is one of the biggest contradictions exist in our society. To our country, the construction of a harmonious society has a huge impact. So, our country for the dual economic structure turn to monastic economic structure has made unremitting efforts.Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels thoughts on urban and rural harmonious development based on Marxist philosophy and the philosophical connotation revealed the unity of opposites between urban and rural. It is a most systematic and scientific development thought. The theory for our country rural development provides scientific theoretical basis for the construction of a harmonious society. According to the research of the urban-rural relations theory by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels,it described the reason of the generation of city, urban-rural isolation and confrontation’s the negative and positive significance. Combined with the present situation of China’s and major problems. Sum up Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels thoughts on urban and rural harmonious development, shortening the gap between urban and rural places, summarizing the experiences and lessons.There are four parts in this paper:The first chapter:Development of productive forces and social division caused the production of private ownership style. Urban-rural chaotic status was disappeared. Early city was actually state-city, its main functions is service for politics and military affairs. People sold surplus of agricultural products, the city was consuming center at this time. There were many villains with laboring tools come from village rebuild city in middle ages feudal city. Handicraft development has brought the promotion and development, surplus increased the number and variety of transportation and trade developed more abundant commodity. The functions of the city has increased, the city was became marketing. Industrial city is the result of the large machinery industry.Industrial city expanded the size of the city, the city of great wealth to diversify the city’s function. The production of city brought some social changes:political institutions established, change class institutions and separation of capital and real estate.The second chapter:urban-rural isolation and confrontation because of private ownership style. Urban and rural segregation has its own separate reasonable and inevitable. It promoted the development of the city, but also resulted in urban-rural gap is too large, over urbanization and political instability. Urban and rural development has become an inevitable trend.The third chapter:Urban and rural development needs to achieve productivity, eliminated the division of labor and abolished private ownership, combine the advantage of city and village. Due to the long history, the system, thinking etc, the typical urban-rural structures formed. Utilize Marx and Engels urban-rural relations theory solved imbalance of urban-rural. We should developing agriculture, change countryside feature and farms’status.
