Đ¡urriculum plays an important role in Chinese language teacher training. Thethesis presents the analysis of Ukrainian higher learning institutions curriculumdesign for Chinese teacher training on the basis of Kyiv National Linguistic Universityby using methods of comparative studies and documentary studies. It is found thatcurriculum design for Chinese language teacher major in Ukraine has the followingfeatures: the complicated structure of the curriculum content with the great role ofthe language and literature courses; blur margins between academic andprofessional training; placing great emphasis on the fundamental courses,interdisciplinarity, research and systematic learning; lack of elective courses; lack ofscientific background for the form, content and time management for Chineselanguage practical courses; the content of Chinese language theoretical courses is outof date. Therewith the thesis conducts the analysis of Chinese MTCSOL major,introduces the possible benefit of using its experience in Ukraine and determines themargins of this use. Finally, the study suggests the following strategies to improve thecurriculum for Chinese language teacher training in Ukrainian higher learninginstitutions: establish the standard and rational time management for Chineselanguage courses; upgrade the content of Chinese language theoretical andmethodological courses; increase the amount of elective courses.
