The ultimate goal of learning a second language is to communicate with people from the target language countries. To achieve this goal, the learners had better learn the culture of the target language country while learning the language. For learners, there is close connection between target language and the target culture. Such cultural elements as religion, art, law and customs are the abilities or general habits that people acquire as social members, including their values and ways of thinking. Since food, housing and clothing are particularly indispensable to our living, language learners should get to know the diet culture of target countries."Language is the carrier of culture ". From this point of view, idioms of each country are also the carrier of its language. Idioms can show the characteristics and development of a certain language, and at the same time reflects the country’s culture and way of thinking. China and South Korea have different geographical and climate conditions. However, people of both countries attach great importance to diet. Therefore, we can understand the characteristics of Chinese and Korean languages from many aspects through the comparative analysis of dietary idioms in the two languages. In this way, we can also get more in-depth understanding of the similarities and differences between the two cultures. For geographical reasons, China and South Korea have influence on each other respectively. The two countries have similarities and differences in ways such as history, culture and politics. With the development of relationship between the two countries, the exchange of the two languages has also increased, and more information is needed for research.
