The charity behaviors of Buddhism monks in Wei Jin South and North Dynasty have played an important part in charity enterprise in ancient China. Starting from the Buddhist scriptures, this thesis analyses the theoretical principle of Buddhist charity separately from the karma, the career notion, mercy view, fukuda concept and giving view. Basing on source material, this thesis does a systematic description about the charity behaviors of Buddhism monks from aspects as follow:persuade people to do good and dissuade from doing evil, exhort killing, life care, social care, construction of public facilities, and the thesis further elaborates on the impact and significance of the charity behaviors of Buddhism monks on social trends and secular charity. This thesis thinks, the charity behaviors of Buddhism monks in Wei Jin South and North Dynasty have played an important part in the spread and development of Buddhism in China, maintaining social stability and promoting the development of economy and culture. Although the charity behaviors of Buddhism monks have not formed a Buddhist charity enterprise yet which have the characteristics of dispersion and random, the charity behaviors of Buddhism monks in Wei Jin South and North Dynasty laid a good and solid foundation of the Buddhist charity enterprise in future generations, especially the Tang dynasty, and they were also the beginning of the Buddhist charity enterprise.
