This article mainly focuses on children, based on child development psychology and design psychology, take human-oriented theory as the theoretical basis of this research. It is a review about social background of this research and status quo of children’s books. This article points out the deficiencies of bookbinding for children and comes up with the concept of game design. In the spirit of games for children, this article discusses games rooted in children’s books are of great significance to children. What we call gamification of book binding design on children’s books pays close attention to the all-round development of children’s body and mind. It embodies the significance of modern education.This article is divided into three parts, based on children’s age group of infancy stage(1to3years old), preschool period(3to6years old) and school age (7、8to13、14years old). It respectively elaborates different stages of children’s psychology development and corresponding book design. It explores design elements, features and rules of gamification from the external form design and content design. In addition to this, it brings up generalized design concept of children’s books. The design brings activity concept into children’s books, breaks the inherent pattern of books, making it closer to the game design concept. Just like children playing games, this design which contains purpose and task can increase children’s voluntary attention, in some way leading to better education results.In the chapter of future design of children’s books, it explains the present situation of children’s e-book market, analyses the feasibility and development of children’s e-books. Based on cases of specific game and preschool education app applications, this article analyses the game design elements of children’s books, and it draws a conclusion to three characteristics of game design of children’s books, namely, guiding role of cartoon animal image, the installation and continuity of target tasks and creative design of incentives. It emphasizes on target task design in the game design of children’s books. On that basis, it matches up with content and form of books, optimizing the effect of education.
