China is entering a new period of reform and opening.Opening the door tothe world in the context of globalization, Accompanied by multi-level andmulti-channel exchanges of culture and economy, language is also in constantchange.Vocabulary is the most active factor of the language. The appearing of the lotsnew things which prompted the emergence of the foreign words in Chinese.Alsoforeign words in Chinese vocabulary system have been an important role. At the sametime, the exchange of popular culture accelerates the incoming of new things and newconcepts.It enriches the number and variety of loanwords, improves the usingfrequency of them.These foreign words have been widely used and have spreadthrough mass media in the life. They integrate rapidly into the Chinese so as tobecome an indispensable part for foreign students in learning Chinese.This paper studies the loanwords and how to teach them in the field of teachingChinese as a foreign language. A total is divided into five parts: the first part ofintroduction introduces the selected topic reason, the research purpose andsignificance, research methods and related research review. The second part gives ageneral overview of the loanwords. The first introduces the definition of loanwords inChinese and forming reason, secondly introduces the peak input of foreign-originatedwords in the history and the development, finally introduces the main form ofloanwords in modern Chinese. The third part introduces foreign-originated words inthe new period which includes the reasons of appearing of Chinese new loanwords, itscharacteristics, classification, loanwords in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.The fourth part introduces the necessity, advantages and disadvantages for the foreignstudents in studying them. Last part puts forward some suggestions and copingstrategies for teaching these loanwords.
