Yuan Jie was the pioneer of the literature movement in the mid-Tang dynasty, he had avery important contribution to the develepment of the new Yue Fu poetry and the Movementof the Ancient Chinese Prose. His literary works also carried with a distinctive literaryfeatures in the transition period. In recent years, more and more academic research on YuanJie，however, the research perspective is mainly confined to the relationship of Yuan Jie withthe creation of new Yue Fu poetry and the Movement of the Ancient Chinese Prose in theTang dynasty, or compare Yuan Jie’s works with other’s works, or study on the relationshipbetween Yuan Jie’s works and the local culture. All inall, it’s not enough to the research ofYuan Jie, and Yuan Jie’s literary creation got much more significance than that.Yuan Jie has twice served as Dao Zhou(now in Hunan Yongzhou) Prefectural Governor,and he lived nearly ten years in Hunan. This was ten years in the last decade of his life, it alsowas the ten years that his thought and literature creation were mature. During this time he lefta large number of literary works, included29poems,5essays, and17Ming with proem,which nearly half of the total number of his existing works. So the paper select Hunan as acenter to study Yuan Jie’s literary works and influence, then to locate the his importantposition in the history of Chinese literature and culture.Yuan Jie’s poems were mainly took practice of his poetic theories of pursuiting elegance,interventing reality, and emphasizing education. There are also some wokes expressed hislove to the landscape in Hunan.“Miscellanies of Hunan” is the name of a series of proseworks of him in Hunan, which made by Yuan Hongdao in Ming dynasty. And these porseswere included by the book of “Famous mountains”, which written by someone in the Mingdynasty. The “Miscellanies of Hunan” have expressed his deeply Confucian ideas, and theywere the pioneers of andscape essay in the literature side.“Cishan proem of Ming” was alsothe name made by Yuan Hongdao for Yuan Jie’s proems of Ming. They expressed theConfucian ideas with seclusion of the helpless choice. The “Cishan proem of Ming” hadcreated the culture of Hunan, and with precious value of literature, calligraphy and heritage. In addition，Yuan Jie had left a large number of poems and proses in the stones in Wuxiof Yongzhou, that attracted generations literaty come here to write for him. Now Wuxi hasformed a precious and rare forest of steles, which have a very important cultural value. What’smore, Fudan University recently pressed a set of book of “Chinese Vietnam Document ofEmissaries to Beijing”, there are more than60pieces of poetry and prose are writing for YuanJie, so the article based on the literature of Wuxi carved stone and Vietnamese manuscript,that to study the spreading and reception of Yuan Jie’s literary creation from the generationsliteraty’s writing for him. The paper will clearly the skeleton of cultural inheritance in Wuxi,and the article thinks that writing in Wuxi for Yuan Jie is a huge event, what is typical ininhertance of Chinese culture.
