The teaching of Chinese as a foreign language is a kind of teaching which provides learners of different culture background the language elements, the skill of spoken language, the culture and so on. The teaching aim is to develop their ability of verbal communication and eventually to make them communicate correctly and effectively. Therefore, cross-cultural teaching is the outstanding feature of this new branch of science, and the culture teaching is indispensable. Nevertheless, as a new branch of science, the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language has been considered as a simple language teaching, while the deeply culture needs is always neglected. Finally, it steps forward hardly because the relationship between language teaching and culture teaching is not reasonable. The culture teaching has been not considered by the linguistics circle until1980s, and then the study and practice on culture teaching began. At classroom, a multiple culture backgrounds situation, different countries or nations possess different taboo culture. The weak of culture teaching inevitably cause conflict between students and teachers, students and target language country. And this kind of conflict may influence the study result and eventually destroy the teaching. At the process of teaching of Chinese as foreign language, the sensitive topic is the symbol of the conflict between Chinese culture and alien culture. If the teacher can’t realize and accommodate this aspect, there will not be a bright future in the class.This paper explicate that the teaching of Chinese as a second language is not only a kind of language teaching but also a sort of culture teaching. The author insists on that we can’t ignore the deeply cultural feature during our teacher spreading knowledge or teaching language skill. This paper analysis the sensitive topics in which the west students of different levels suffered cultural conflict. After the study, our teacher can perform better, can pay more attention to the learning subject and can teach students abroad more than language skill.Firstly, starting with the teaching, this paper mainly shows something about sensitive topics which are proposed by western students in the process of learning Chinese. According to the learners’language level, the second part is aimed at searching the reason why they put up to sorts of sensitive topics and try to find out the crucial reason, then can suit the remedy to the case. The third part begins with the position of teachers and mainly discusses how to deal with these sensitive topics so that we can avoid unnecessary misunderstanding or conflict and finally accomplish teaching aims smoothly.Considering the limited knowledge reserve and the lack of practice, author collects the related dates about sensitive topics mostly from the related literature documents, and from the teachers of long school age. This paper tries to find out the best way to avoid misunderstanding and eventually realize the win-win situation in the teaching of Chinese as foreign language.
