This paper conducts in Thai students with different level of Chinese, investigates their acquisition of Chinese bi-syllabic-tone. The author studies Thai students’ bi-syllabic-tone perception and their capacity of actual pronunciation by auditory perception experiment and acoustical experiment. Auditory perception experiment is made of moot bi-syllabic-tone and significative bi-syllabic-tone, then through it, the author generalizes Thai students’main bias errors and the rules of their acquisition of Chinese bi-syllabic-tone. This paper discusses the common problems in Chinese acquisition process of Thai learners, and shows the basic conclusion:(1) Thai students’perception is not strong but the significative bi-syllabic-tone can help them to get correct perception;(2) Rising tone and falling-rising tone is confusing on perception for Thai students no matter it is the front character or the latter;(3) there are similar bias errors both the front and the latter:level tone pattern shows a falling type in the primary stage, until advanced stage it is same with mandarin, but the pitch range is still lower; rising tone shows certain bias errors in pitch range and tone-pattern, shows a concave type; banshang tone, its tone value is higher than mandarin in the beginning when it is the front character, and accord with mandarin when it is the latter; if the falling-rising tone changes to rising tone in the front character, there are errors in pitch range and tone-pattern, the tone pattern shows a concave type; falling tone, shows a concave and falling type in the primary stage, until advanced stage it is accord with mandarin, but the fall in the beginning is gentle and in the end is cliffy, its tone value is bias from mandarin. This paper is guided by Interlanguage Theory, Error Analysis Theory and Contrastive Analysis Theory, shows the conclusions about Thai students’acquisition of Chinese bi-syllabic-tone:(1) the reasons of acquisition:1. Mother tongue positive transfer,2. The tone characteristics of target language,3. The positive transfer of the knowledge of Chinese tone.(2) the reasons of error analysis:1. Mother tongue negative transfer,2. The negative transfer of the knowledge of Chinese tone,3. Teaching reason, as the misleading of the teacher. Finally, the suggestions on bi-syllabic-tone teaching are offered:1. Pay attention to the tone-pattern, and distinguish the different pitch patterns,2. Use the teaching method which Combine the Knowledge of experimental phonetics with music,3. The teaching should be based on monosyllabic tone, but also pay attention to bi-syllabic-tone.
