Word Transformation Of Dictionaries

In this dissertation, from the perspective of compiling dictionaries, we makeclassified study to those noun-verb words. Those dual-purpose words should beincluded in dictionaries, and the temporary-use words is not included. We study thosenoun-verb words in two big Chinese dictionary. Besides introduction and conclusion,this dissertation is divided into eight chapters.Introduction. introduces mainly the value about the subject of the dissertation，the situation of the research, the thinking ways of the research and so on.The first chapter, the noun-verb words in ancient Chinese and the compilation ofdictionaries.(1) Based on the semantic of noun. The features of noun derived from thephysical traits cannot be used as a verb, but from action can be.(2) The scope ofactivities about the conversion of noun-verb. If similar words in the extended methodsbelong to the same extent, these words belongs to the dual-purpose words, otherwisebelongs to the temporary-use words.(3) The noun-verb words and the compilation ofdictionaries. Those dual-purpose words should be included in dictionaries, and thetemporary-use words are not included.According to the inclusion principle of transforming vocabulary categories indictionaries which is put forwarded in the Chapter1, the relationship between thetransforming vocabulary categories and the complication of dictionary of the eightcategories of noun including the animal noun, implement noun, nature noun, bodynoun, accommodation noun, architecture noun, and abstract noun are discussed fromthe Chapter2to the Chapter8.To be specific, first, some research and analysis on inclusion situation oftransforming vocabulary categories of these noun in four Chinese dictionaries aredone. These four reference dictionaries are Han Yu Da Ci Dian, Han Yu Da Zi Dian, Ci Yuan(revised edition), and Gu Dai Han Yu Ci Dian.Second, two types of transforming vocabulary categories in these noun setted inthis part are noun to verb and verb to noun.Last, based on the research above, several issues are deeply discussed and somebrand new conclusion are made in this thesis. The first issue mentioned is ways toextend meaning of words of these two types of the transforming above；the secondone is the nature of the transforming, which means noun-verb dural-purpose words ornoun-verb temporary-use words; and whether dictionary should include thesetransforming words are also discussedConclusion. Summarizes the major points, and we count the data of noun-verbwords in two big Chinese dictionary.
