Le Clezio Fiction Space Images

War is a2008Nobel Prize winner Jean Marie Gustave Le Clezio early masterpiece of fiction. The novel reflects the author fully in the predetermined to pursue the creation of the New Novel in character, and to show the New Fable faction literary features. Meanwhile, the most prominent manifestation in the War is space images. Therefore, this thesis intends to interpret the War from the perspective of space images. That is, through the analysis of specific texts-War, Le Clezio’s previous works explore the creative qualities, thus revealing Le Clezio novel’s narrative theme and practical significance.This thesis consists of three parts:introduction, body and conclusion. Body part, I discussed the following four aspects. First, I define the concept of space imagery. At the same time, this concept combined a real space, divided into physical space, mental space and social space of three different levels of spatial form. In other words, the spatial imagery is reflected images of these different spaces. Then, I from the perspective of geography space analysis of War in the urban space. This part of the contents of the geography space as the breakthrough point of text analysis, mainly analyses the different roles of the three space plays in the city, and then reveals the special significance of different spaces produced in the War. The third part, I mainly from the perspective of narrative space in the War and set the narrative and imagery of overlapping features, which found a space in the literary works of the expression level of image qualities. The fourth part, I mainly metaphorical imagery from space, the viewing angle, to tease out the author’s creative thinking and creative ideas, thus revealing the theme and the different spaces in modern life arising from practical significance.After the above work on different aspects of analysis, from which we are not difficult to find:Le Clezio in the War through the portrayal of spatial imagery, designed to modern living condition, expressed as a war without smoke bussiness "battle" Although not as fire-torn world war, but in a competitive market place, this is still a horrifying, everywhere filled with the scent of blood space battle. Indeed, this happens in a capitalist society, in the commodity space in the battle for market, will inevitably lead to abnormal development of Western civilization. That modern man in space on the social sense of belonging, identity, sense of time is the real life shot to pieces, human survival "home" memory had all gone, leaving only the endless wandering soul. In summary, in this work, spatial image Le Clezio described to us, the reality space not geologists face, can be geometric analysis, the quantitative calculation, but through intuitive grasp of the mental space. This space let us through different space and time experience the real life, understanding the significance and value of life then forced us in this sense of reality; the thinking of the relationship between people and people, people and space, people relations with the world; and finally focus to modern survival.
