Set by a natural landscape, the real-life scenery performance mainly introduces the local traditional culture and customs. It is a unique cultural pattern created by masters in the field of business and entertainment, showing our Chinas’tourism transition to cultural tourism. Most landscape performances are staged at the cultural scenic areas in tourist cities. With the help of natural factors and local traditions and culture, this art form is processed, making the conversion from a single natural landscape to the cultural landscape come true. However, such process is absolutely not a single culture nestification, but an innovation after a comprehensive processing from various elements including culture, tourism, economy, science and technology, art, etc., and eventually forms to a special cultural landscape reflecting the cultural connotation as a fundamental objective of performance. Meanwhile, it has also become a special modern cultural symbol. The domestic landscape performance started from the comedy Impression" Liu Sanjie in2004in Guilin City of Guangxi Province. Its success has led a large number of cultural tourist cities to follow suit and set off a wave of white-hot "performance in the real natural areas. With a view of nearly a decade history of development, no matter from the content or form, the landscape performances basically have the following characteristics:Firstly, storytelling. It means leading the history into the reality, which is different from a large ritual; then, regional. In addition to stories with the local culture, there are some local geographical features as for the performance places. And this is different from the theater; thirdly, openness. The open venue of landscape performances narrow the distance between actors and audiences and through interaction audiences can participate in performances. Thus, the large site is far better than other types of performances; besides, situational. Landscape performance is selected from the most representative plot fragments, which is different from television, and movies; lastly, science and technology. It makes use of a variety of cutting-edge and high-tech means to enhance the performance effects, and the combination of the lighting, stage and sound embodies the highest requirements in the outdoor performances. Only integrated with the above five basic concepts can a performance be regarded as a real landscape performance, and that also helps to define the scope of this study. However, today’s landscape performances all have the characteristics of large-scale, big investment, and big-budget, which gradually becomes the goal and trend of their development. Therefore, this thesis chooses those large-scale landscape performance already owning mature markets as the main research subject. The differences of landscape performance from other different performances lie in that it not only returns the real scene related to the themes of stories, but also reflects the local traditional culture and folk customs. This is not only an innovation to the traditional performance model, but also a breakthrough with the performance venues. With the help of the cultural heritage as the scenic stage, of the integration of the most unique stories, and making use of a variety of performance form, Landscape performance has become a new performance mode, which gains more and more recognition in the culture and tourist industries. Through the combination of natural and human resources, audiences obtain much richer travel experience besides the single joy of sightseeing. It also leads the audiences to have a strong psychological interaction with the plot development while watching at the same time, so as to generate more profound travel experience. Furthermore, this can also show the local tourism and cultural resources to audiences more comprehensively and plays an important role in promoting the economic development of the tourist city, so as to contribute to the reconstruction of the local traditional culture and the revitalization of the culture industry.Of course, not all of the landscape performances can bring good economic benefits to the local development. Some scenic spots add the content of vulgarization as is the hot pursuit of the "eye" effect. Those performances emphasize the interpretation of the commercial elements while ignore the cultural connotation. And owing to the problem of serious repeat, copy, formalization and weak innovation, the landscape performance finds it difficult in its development. At the same time, audiences will not pay for the next mechanical performance because it is content single, mode rigid and lack of innovation. And all of these are the issues current landscape performances exist in the real development. Taking Impression Hainan Island for example, the original purpose of the release is to attract tourists to participate in with the aid of the actual landscape, so as to reverse the economic decline of the tourist city of Haikou. However, due to the lack of deep regional culture, it fails to evoke the cultural awareness of the tourists. Thus, it fails to achieve the expected dissemination results and even can not recover the investment cost. Now more and more performance of investors, creators should think about the question of how to better explore the traditional culture of the tourist cities and develop the local tourism based on its culture to generate original and classic landscape performances as a local brand. Therefore, the analysis and study of landscape performance will play a vital role in the heritage of our Chinese traditional culture and the future development of tourist cities.Chapter One describes the background and significance of this paper from the fields of sociology, cultural and creative industries, tourism school, semiotics, communication, aesthetics, etc..
