Jazz originated from West Africa formed in the United States form of music,rootsmusic from blues and Ragtime. Jazz in its course of development apart from the rootsof black music, and also absorbed classical music, folk music and many other musicalelements, is a combination of African black culture and white culture in Europe. Jazzis an active, energetic music, flashing rhythms and syncopation with a beating,usually by a small instrumental combinations, or a combination of larger plays. Jazzalso has a strong sense of improvisation, given to each performer according to theirown musical freedom of imagination and improvisation. Main styles of Jazz: NewOrleans Jazz, swing, Bebop, cool jazz, free jazz, Latin jazz, Fusion Jazz, and so on.The piano, because of its wide range and complex chord change, making it aplace in classical music and jazz fields. Piano in jazz as an important musicalinstruments, in the inheritance of classical piano playing techniques, and developedhis own unique playing technique, development of multiple music genres, for pianomusic, left a lot of classics, jazz flourished in themselves at the same time, alsoinfluenced the creation of many classical musicians. This article discusses the historyof jazz, jazz piano, jazz piano of the genre and the emergence of musicians; analysisof piano music in jazz and classical piano music connection and difference; technicalfeatures of exploring jazz piano, how to learn jazz and how at this stage into the jazzpiano in piano teaching. Jazz is essential important part of pop music and popularculture, it is also the connecting bridge between classical music and pop music. Enjoyand learn the positive upward, has plenty of energy and a strong improvisationalfreedom of music, can help us feel to the music of a different charm and grasp thedevelopment trend of world music, can also open our way of thinking, change theperspective of things, opening our own musical imagination and creativity.
