US AP Chinese Program On The Convergence Of Foreign Language Teaching In Higher Enlightenment

With the development of the globalization on technology, culture and education, the talents cultivation model needs new requirements. For a long time, the middle school educational system and the college/university educational system, especially in foreign language teaching, are lacking the necessary communication. There are huge gaps between the educational objectives, the curriculum provisions and educational philosophies. On one hand, it wastes and misuses teaching and teacher resources, which should play a great role; on the other hand, it separates the connection between the middle school education and the college/university education, which should be considered as an integrated system. It has become imminent problems for how to study and reference the experiences from other countries during the globalization and strengthen the connection between the college/university education and middle school education.The talents cultivation with high quality needs the mutual connection and hardworking between the college/university educations and middle school education. The middle school education and college/university education are depend on each other and connected with each other in modern school educational system. The both parts are effected each other and have a close relationship. One side, the middle school education offers the students to the college/university education. The quality of the middle school education effects the quality of the college/university education, meanwhile the middle school education also offers some job opportunities to the college/university education; another side, the dimension, structure, type and enrollment system of college/university education not only effect directly on the dimension, structure, educational objectives and curriculum provisions of the middle school education, but also effect the ideology, value orientation and consensus of the middle school education by its own. Although the foreign language teaching in China has began earlier, but elementary schools, middle schools and colleges/universities all has its own periodical teaching system with its own requirements during their developments, there is no consolidated text books, teaching methods and teaching syllabus as well.AP Program (Advanced Placement Program) is one educational method that high school students can study the courses in lower level of college/university, it can achieve the goals that continuity of the talents cultivation and smooth transition from high school to college/university. AP Chinese and Culture is not only using the experiences of other AP courses as reference, but also developing a rigorous and scientific foreign language teaching system. It has the irreplaceable reference for the foreign language teaching of other counties, especially for the foreign language teaching connection from middle school to college/university.The thesis is written for the integration of foreign language teaching in middle school and college/university, as well as for deepening the connection of our reforms of educational system. It takes the AP Chinese and Culture from US as the example, and then analyses and summarizes the different characteristics of AP Chinese and Culture, as well as elaborates the contribution for the conformability between American middle school and college/university. It also discusses how to enforce the corporations between the curriculum provisions, teacher communications and teaching philosophies in the foreign language teaching of middle schools and colleges/universities in China, and then we can raise the integral level of our foreign language teaching.
