With China’s rapid economic developing and international status significantly improving, Chinese studying has been upsurge in the growing world. Nowadays, not only a large number of foreign students come to China to learn Chinese, but also more and more foreign people eager to learn Chinese. To this end, many colleges and universities in our country set Chinese as a foreign language course; Hanban has also trained a batch of volunteers going to all over the world for Chinese teaching. Promoting Chinese language has become an inevitable trend on a global scale. However, under the new situation, how to carry on the Chinese language teaching for foreign students has become a problem. True, in primary and middle school Chinese teaching has a long history and a wealth of experience. Teaching Chinese as a foreign language can draw lessons from Chinese teaching method and mode for the development of their teaching. However, teaching Chinese as a foreign language is sui generis which has essential difference with the Chinese teaching of primary and secondary schools. This article uses the comparison analytic method, from the teaching goal, teaching method and teaching process of these three aspects to discuss differences in teaching Chinese as a foreign language and Chinese language teaching for primary and secondary schools. Finally concluded that, for the purpose of teaching Chinese as a foreign language in order to "use", to "practice" as the way to develop listening, speaking, reading and writing skills and ability to cross-cultural communication in Chinese; And Chinese teaching with "development" for the purpose, to "think" is the way, cultivate all-round development of people’s point of view.The author hope to the comparative analysis of both can have certain inspiration to the Chinese as foreign language teachers, to make it better organize the teaching.
