Based, in part, on the work of some earlier scholars home and abroad, the study of cultural teaching in this paper applied a holistic approach of combining language and culture in college English classroom so as to most effectively enable the Chinese college students to become not only linguistically but also interculturally competent. Though there is a large and growing number of theoretical writings concerned with the importance and necessity of culture teaching being a part of foreign language teaching, there is actually very little work done concerning "what and how to teach regarding the various culture aspects", which we can borrow and apply to our present Chinese college English teaching situation. Thus this paper is dedicated to solve the remaining problems and the result is let out based on the author's fieldwork as a college teacher herself.As what the title unveiled, the thesis is concerned with incorporating culture into Chinese college English teaching, more specifically, certain consideration is given to the conceptualization of culture in the language education context as well as the recommended motivational strategies for infusing cultural issues into classroom instruction. And the latter is a more revolutionary part in the paper which intends to provide the Chinese language educators with certain guidance and inspiration to more effective culture teaching methods.This paper is true to its intention in addressing cultural issues in the language class, but it does not claim to be comprehensive because all the researches done concern only the college English teaching (non-English major) in language classroom context and it is surely not possible to discuss all aspects of culture teaching in an article of this length. Eventually, it is hoped that more such work and study could be inspired based on this work and the author concludes the paper in the wish of more and more researches flowing out concerning different aspects of culture teaching in the near future.
