Dmitri Borisovich Kabalevsky(1904-1987)is considered one of the composers whomade the greatest contribution to the teaching repertoire for the piano. His interesting inyoung people and devotion to music education has resulted in books and articles, as wellas widely used pedagogical works including Children’s pieces, Op.27, Twenty-FourLittle Pieces, Op.39, and Five Sets of Variation, Op.51.Many teaching materials inbeginning to early intermediate levels include Kabalevsky’s accessible and imaginativepieces from these collections. In comparison, his advanced works are rarely performed inconcerts or used for teaching among educators.This research focuses on one of the neglected works by Kabalevsky, Preludes,Op.38.The objective of this research is to provide a stylistic overview and an analysis forteaching and performance.Throughout the study of domestic Kabalevsky’s point of view, research is stillsignificantly less than its prelude, attention is also not enough. Both the lack of24preludes overall combing artistic features, each of which is also a lack of analysis of thefirst works of musical skills. The main work is being based on these two points: bothmacro-combing his24Preludes overall features are also included for each of the firstworks of musical skills, difficulty in analysis. Interpretation of macro-and micro-focus,from the whole to the local analysis and research ideas, both the main work of this paper,is also the innovation of this paper, in order to expand the domestic research work on thisbroader space, and for the establishment of Kabalevsky system works played, and eventhe creation of style provide case support.Chapter One includes an introduction and the background of Kabalevsky. ChpaterTwo discusses the compositional style and the performance of the Preludes. The firstchapter lays by Kabalevsky’s life situation, review the work and creative ideas for thePrelude research foundation, the second chapter of the24Preludes by specificcharacteristics of the analysis and interpretation of the works of each song played,expand the topics in this article and research.
