As is known to all, the traditional political participation proves to be one of themain channels for citizens to concern about the country’s political life, social issues. Itplays an indispensible role in the country’s political stability and social harmony.Since the Internet came into being in China, along with the constant upgrade ofcomputer technologies, the network impact on political participation has beenincreasingly significant, and the way of citizens’ political participation in politicalaffairs has taken on a new look. With its rapid development, the Internet hasobviously become the main platform for the Chinese citizens to point out currentproblems, distinguish and comment upon the right or the wrong, appeal for their owninterests, release their feelings. The network political participation has become a newtechnical term in the field of political science.Focusing on the current social reality, this thesis firstly elaborates the generalsituation of Chinese citizens’ network political participation from four aspects: itsdefinition, its main bodies, methods, as well as features, and then further points outthe dual effects of the network political participation upon the political and socialstability, positive and negative ones included.
