| During the1950’s period, which was at the beginning of PRC’s foundation, theParty Central Committee held a serial of brainwashing movements, for the purpose ofnational support of the new Chinese Party regime and socialism construct. Themovement brainwashed to the intellectual produced a great number of injustice cases,and many intelligent people and valued works were destroyed.Ma Yinchu and his New Population Theory hadn’t survived from the movement.During the critical attack, New Population Theory was announced to follow theMathusianism, look down upon Chinese farmers, hold capitalist background and goagainst dialectical materialism. But after Ma Yinchu’s reputation was given back in1979, New Population Theory received the praise from the mainstream media.Through the author’s quantitative research, the critics from1957—1960had norelationship with the context of New Population Theory. The magazine controlled thedirection of the critics, while the magazine was controlled by the upper classgovernment. It is the political pressure led the tragedy of New Population Theory, theconclusion was the same as the author’s quantitative research.The critics movement make China lose the best chance to deal with thepopulation problem, go against the objective rules and hurt the internationalcommunist movement a lot. We should absorb the historical experience, solve thecultural problems in the inner cultural circle, look forward to the academicindependence and thought of freedom. |
