The Indian Swadeshi Movement originated in the 1860s and 1870s,and its activities continued until India became independent, and its influence even continued to today. The main research period of this paper is from 1905 to 1908,which is the Swadeshi Movement in 1905,to investigate the causes and progress of the outbreak of the movement,as well as the impact of the Indian Independence Movement,Indian industrial and commercial development, and relation between Hindu community and Muslim community. The Swadeshi Movement in 1905 was the first large-scale mass movement in the history of modern national liberation in India, which opened a new round of national independent movement in India.Different from the route of moderate constitutional reform adopted by the early Indian National Congress by sending the petition to the British parliament, the movement adopted the new struggle route with non-violent,including different kinds of large-scale mass movements, such as boycott British goods,"Passive Resistance",national education.Despite the appearance of the trend of personal terrorism in the movement,it had never become the mainstream of the movement. It had also established the characteristics of the Indian National Liberation Movement, which was dominated by non-violent mass movements and supplemented by violent activities and ran through the entire process of pursuing independence in India. As a typical "national products movement",the Swadeshi movement had promoted the development of Indian national industry and commerce. The movement tried to promote the sale of national products through the Swadeshi store, the Swadeshi exhibition and the parity movement, encourage and revitalize the traditional handicraft industry, build new industries based on modern science and technology, carry out national banks, insurance companies and inland shipping, and organized science&technical education and industrial technology research.Besides, the Swadeshi Movement in 1905 foreshadowed the fate of the British Indian colonies. The conflicts and riots between the Hindu and Muslim communities in East Bengal had not only interrupted the process of the movement, but also pushed the movement into a whirlpool of failure. At the same time,it had objectively contributed to the establishment of the All-India Muslim League, and the attempt to merge all India into a single modern nation had finally failed. Not only the British India has finally become three countries, but the contradiction between India and Pakistan remains to this day.And the ethnic conflicts due to religious, cultural and social issues are far from rest in India today. The thesis is divided into four parts. The first part is the history background of the Indian national movement and the Swadeshi Movement in 1905,including the adjustment of the British Indian colonial government's policy, the general appearance of India's economy and society, the development of Indian national industry and commerce, the development of early Indian nationalism, and the emergence of Swadeshi consciousness. The second part reviews the Swadeshi Movement in 1905,which mainly includes the partition of Bengal, the situation of the Muslim community in Bengal, the whole story of the ethnic riot in east Bengal and the typical "Swadeshi" activities. The third part is a more detailed analysis of the movement, discussing the different factions in the movement and their claims, and the four trade that appeared in the movement, the types of organizations that appeared in the movement and their activities. The last part of the article discusses the various effects of the Swadeshi Movement in 1905,including the impact of the Indian Independence Movement and the Indian national industry and commerce, the relationship with the Swadeshi and the Spinning Wheel Revolution of Gandhi, which inheriting and carrying forward the Swadeshi Movement in 1905,and the relation between the Hindu and the Muslim communities.
