Discussion About The Causes For The Expansion Of The Anti-Rightist Movement

The Expansion of the Anti-Rightist Movement was a significant history event which happened in the early period after the founding of New China and an important turning point in history. More than 50 million intellectuals and party members had labeled as the men of anti-socialist and the bourgeois rightist, which had made them suffering from long-term bear grievances and suspending the short transition of social modernization since the founding of New China and also starting a long unrest period of the"Left"which had maintained about 20 years. Therefore, it is significance to reflection of the Anti-Rightist Movement and it is more significance to sum up the experience and lessons that the policy of ruling party has made towards intellectuals since the founding of New China, especially under the situation that large amount of intellectual has required to play a greater role in promoting community in the construction of the socialist modernization in the new period.The paper based on the relationship between the ruling party and the intellectuals as a perspective, thinking the reasons for the expansion of the Anti-Rightist Movement. The paper is divided into three parts that is part of the three main reasons. The first part is that the judgement of the CPC leaders had impacted by the international and domestic political situation. The international political situation had mainly refered to the Western capitalist society, which had paid great attention to China and the Soviet socialism, which had aroused the society chaos because the secret report of anti-Stalin of Khrushchev at the twentieth Communist Party of USSR. The secret report had affected some socialist states in Eastern Europe, which had also affected China. The domestic political situation had mainly refered to some disharmony factors appearing at the later stage of the rectification campaign that the Communist Party of China launched, especially to some extreme remarks of certain intellectuals, which had aroused the vigilance of Mao Zedong and the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. These two situations had seriously impacted the judgement of the intellectuals of the CPC leaders.The second part has made a detailed description of some mistakes on the problem of intellectual of the Communist Party of China. Firstly, the author has made a simple summary on the intellectual theory of the CPC. Secondly, the author has made a more detailed analysis on the mistakes which has made at the process of Transformation of intellectuals after the founding of New China and has concluded it into three aspects: first, the transformation was too hasty; second, the transformation treated the academic issues as political matters and an ideological problems; third, the particularity of intellectuals has paid no attention on the process of transformation. It was the"left"tendency of intellectuals of the policy of CCP that made the relationship between CCP and intellectuals more tension. What's more, this trend of"Left"had never resolved thoroughly, once meeting such an unexpected event, it was easy to change the nature of affairs and finally lead to the Expansion of the Anti-Rightist Movement. The third part is to rethink profoundly on the causes of the Expansion of Anti-Rightist Movement of some negative effects on the intellectuals. The author has also concluded them into three parts: the first part is that intellectual has remained some backward concepts of the traditional culture; second, the group of intellectuals indeed has a problem of not combine with general public; third, the intellectual is short of group cooperation consciousness. These weaknesses have shown out at the period of the Expansion of the Anti-Rightist, which has had some negative impacts.Finally, the author has reflected on the enlightenment towards now of the Expansion of the Anti-Rightist. The author thinks that: first, be going to push forward socialism democracy and legal construction energetically; second, be going to stop the improper form of struggle of mass movement; third, need to form the fine atmosphere of respecting knowledge and intellectual in the society; fourth, the intellectual needs to accomplish self's change.
