| As a social political phenomenon, populism produced in a specific period ofsocial transition. Now China is in a transition period, with the rapid growth ofeconomy and social change sharply, the increasing interests differentiation, the socialdisputes, social contradictions also increases. For example: the gap between the richand the poor widens, increased unemployment, corruption is serious and so on.Facing many social contradictions, people longed for the government to takeeffective ways to solve, hope to get respect and protect their own interests appeal. Butdue to various factors, social contradictions haven’t resolved and become more andmore serious. Public dissatisfaction accumulate with the government and the society,reduce the trust in government. Especially when it involves to public interest problem,the legitimate demands of people, tend to choose some irrational way to deal with it,and do not want to believe that government departments and judicial departments.Populism began to breed in the social environment like this.This article firstly analyzes the connotation and characteristics of populism. Thereis not a clear definition of populist. This article discriminates populism and relatedconcepts and analyzes populist internal core elements. We hope people be able toclearly recognize the nature and characteristics of populism. Secondly, we analyze themanifestations of populist in view of the actual situation at this stage, and on the basisof an analysis of its root causes. Thirdly, this article focuses on the impact of populismon Democratic Politics in China. Theoretical analysis based on Marx’s dialectics, wecan understand the populist is not without merit for democratic, there is also one aspectof their enthusiasm. It is based on the dual nature of populism for the development ofChina democratic, we conclude that on one hand we strictly vigilance current populistflooding, on the other hand, we actively guide them. |
