The Lack Of Morality In The Public Domain Research Questions

The public sphere corresponding to the private sphere is a public space betweenstate and society, and with the development of social economy and the increasinglyclose relationship is established between public sphere and the public. Within the space,the public comment on certain topic or some common concerned topics each other inorder to reach a consensus, but whether the public sphere run smoothly or not, to acertain extent, depends on the participants’ within the sphere degree of the acceptanceand implementation of codes of ethics. With the establishment and constantlyimprovement of the market economic system, the unprecedented rapid economic growthappeared in our country, people’s material life level is continuously improving. Behindthe rapid economic development, however, people’s moral consciousness in the publicsphere has not correspondingly increased, the guiding role of public morality isweakened. During social transformation period, the expansion of publicity is giving riseto the corresponding general need for the rules of social public life and the order, butbecause of people’s value orientation diversified characteristics, certain inherent tensionoccurs between requirements for the unity of rules of public life and the individual lifediversity. Exploring the lack of morality in public sphere therefore, putting forwardtargeted and effective countermeasures against reasons undoubtedly has importantresearch significance for the construction of harmonious and sustainable developmentalethical society.The lack of morality within public sphere is primarily reflected in the followingaspects such as social life, social culture, politics, economy etc. In the sphere of sociallife, there are still phenomena such as damaging public facilities, littering. Someproblems have not been solved. For instance, in social life sphere, people’scommunication in the virtual network community lacks trust. In the field of socialcultural life, undue entertainments exist in television, newspapers’ contents; journalistscreate false news, and charge extra fees for objects reported; in the academic field,frauds also exist in project, awards and other activities. In the political public sphere,public power is abused. In the economic field, enterprise and enterprise betweenenterprises and consumers integrity doesn’t exists among enterprises, consumers,showing lack of social conscience and mercenary like production and sale of counterfeit goods.For a long time, domestic and foreign scholars have been exploring issues of thelack of morality in the public sphere extensively and thoroughly, which involve manydisciplines. With the development of social economy, however, new issues andsituations occur constantly, therefore making issues of lack of morality unsolvedradically.This thesis elaborates and analyzes the current status of the lack of moral in thepublic sphere mainly through the literature research, the material dialectics andobservation, finally attempts to find solutions to the lack of moral through improvingthe morality in the social public sphere, establishing the restriction mechanisms forpublic abusing of power, improving the market ethics, and so on.
