With the development of China’s urbanization, the number of landless peasants hascontinued to increase. After the house demolished, most of them are placed in thecommunities. In the process of transition from rural communities to urban communities, thelandless peasants’ rural life is ended. They have to join into the fast-paced, highly competitivecity life, while the older group is worth paying attention to. Due to changes in the physical,psychological aspects, the older people’s social adaptation ability is significantly weaker thanthe young when they face the social changes. They are prone to low self-esteem psychologyand it is not conducive to live in comfort in their old age.This research used interviews, participant observation to collect data, summarized theclient’s status in social adaption and analyzed the problem. And then using social caseworkmethod involved the client’s problem. This article aimed at understanding the social adoptionof old immigration and available social work in this field. Under the guidance of“psychosocial approach” model, the social worker pay more attention to improve theenvironment, the client’s psychological state, so that the client can be better adapted to thenew environment, and reach the goal of creating a wonderful old life. By the social worker’shelp, the client had a great progress: achieved a specific goal, intermediate and long-termgoals; built up social support network; improved the ability of social adaptation.
