Chinese Traditional Political Culture And Its Contemporary Value

The sinicization and nationalization of Marxism is not only an important content for the Marxist theory construction project, but also the inevitable requirement for building "harmonious society" and achieving "Chinese dream". Guided by the historical materialism of Marxism, this dissertation starts from the relevant concepts and characteristics of culture and traditional culture, further extends to related fields like political culture and political civilization meaning, and expounds the relationship between political culture and political civilization. Subsequently, this dissertation analyzes and elaborates the traditional political culture from six aspects of people-based thought of "people are more important than the ruler", following people’s psychology of "implementing benevolent policies for people", justice concept of "realizing moralities and justice with rites and laws", governing concept of "advocating morality and being rigorous in penalty", democratic will of "selecting the good and the capable for public service" and the governing philosophy of "being principled leaders", and then implements historical evaluation on traditional political culture from positive roles and historic limitations. Finally, it studies and demonstrates the contemporary value of Chinese traditional political culture, and carries out exploratory researches mainly from three perspectives of the inspiration from Chinese traditional political culture on Chinese Communist Party’s governing for the people, on the construction of socialist political civilization and on management system reform of cadre appointment in current Party.
