This paper mainly research the process of the Soviet-Israeli relations from ’honey moon’ to severance in1948-1953and its reasons.Chapter one is a revision to the process of Soviet-Israeli friendship relations. After the Nazi’s invasion, Moscow started their contact with the World Zionism Organization and changed their long hostile stand towards the Zionism only in the hope of getting more assistance from the international society. Moscow turned to openly support the Jews created their country in Palestine in order to expel British from Palestine after the World War Ⅱ.Chapter two discusses the process of the Soviet-Israeli relations’ severance and its reasons. Soviet-Israeli relation was finally broke out after several events:the internationalization of Jerusalem, the Korean War, the Middle East Command and the Doctors’ Plot. The reasons are Soviet Union support the creation of Israel only because of its practical purpose, Israel’s more and more pro western and Soviets’ anti-Semitism movement.Chapter three describes the impact of severance of Soviet-Israeli relations. It indicated that the diplomatic relations broke off between the two countries in1953was not just an occasional diplomatic affair. It ends the period of Soviet-Israeli ’honey moon’ relations, marked the shift of Soviet Middle East policy from focusing Israel to the Arabs.The severance of Soviet-Israeli relations discloses that the practical feature of Stalin’s foreign policy after WWII, distinguishes the primary and secondary of the Stalin’s policies towards Jews, shows that how the international pattern restrict one state’s foreign policy and the necessity of controlling nationalism.
