Since the1990s, the process of combating corruption has been proceeding unswervingly. Although the transforming forms and techniques appear some characteristics such as diversified, covert and intelligent in nowadays, the Communist Party of China (CPC) can timely tackle new problems caused by corruption, guide and boost the social politics mentality when in the course of combating corruption. This paper retrospects the history of combating corruption in China in recent20years to present the change of social politics mentality. In the early1990s, corruption phenomena dramatically endangered the overall situation of reform, development, and stability. The Central Committee of CPC advocated a stringent thinking of anti-corruption, with two hands scratch firmly after Deng Xiaoping’s Talk in South China. In the following several National Congresses, the CPC posed many countermeasures to combat corruption, and had achieved some good effects. The14th National Congress raised special items to struggle against corruption with the goal of winning the people’s confidence, which deepened the people’s anti-corruption mentality. There existed an unhealthy trend of corruption that endangered the vital interests of the public before the15th National Congress was convoked. To solve this, the15th National Congress put forward policy to prevent corruption at the source, deployed targeting anti-corruption works, and raised the social and political evaluation and the enthusiasm of political participation. Some areas prone to emerge corruption existed before the16th National Congress. The16th National Congress raised education and system should be taken to co-govern the corruption, combated corruption in an integrated way, and led the political awareness of society towards a more rationality. The17th National Congress put a thinking of combating corruption that anti-corruption should combine punishment with prevention, which brought remarkable achievements to network monitoring and improved political identity. Before the18th National Congress was convoked, the patterns of corruption evolved which undermined the social credibility of the public. Therefore, the18th National Congress made a system combating corruption strategy which strengthened the confidence of social anti-corruption. Four enlightenments can be drawn from the whole process of combating corruption. First, there is a positive relationship between the effects of anti-corruption works and the change of social politics mentality. Second, we should regard the social politics mentality dialectically. Third, the improper benefits gained from power, the negative act of duty, and the injustice of judicature are negative factors that affect social politics mentality. Finally, anti-corruption is the important approach to boost the social politics mentality.
