This research is the result of four years of studying in China and it discusses how a close relationship between two great countries, China and Madagascar, was built and developed.I was convinced that understanding the history of the relations between China and Madagascar can lead the two countries to a better and greater cooperation. The fact that I am in China give me the opportunities and advantages of this research. There have not been very many academic studies on this subject, which is obviously significant, so this research should be considered as a helpful reference for a better improvement of the relations between the two countries. While studying this theme, I took to consideration the theory of Constructivism, which argues that people construct their own understanding and knowledge of the world, through experiencing things and reflecting on those experiences. Thus, it seems necessary to begin with observing the respective historical outline of China and Madagascar from a long-term point of view. Then, after tracing the early contacts between the two peoples, I investigate the diplomatic relations and the economic cooperation and trade development. The integration of Chinese minority in Madagascar and the presence of Madagascans in China are also dealt with. Additionally, the global and African aspects of their relations must be considered, since they are both members of some international organizations. |
