Research On Deng Zihui’s Humanistic Thought In Agricultural Work And Its Enlightenments

In the process of China’s modernization, socialist market economy has achieved rapiddevelopment. Nevertheless, a series of issues has also come into being, like unfair distribution,large gap of wealth, and so on. At this time, an in-depth study of people-oriented theory canprovide theoretical guidance for solving these problems. As an outstanding leader of Chinesefarmer movement, Deng Zihui unwaveringly followed the mass line and constantlysafeguarded the interests of farmers, which reflected the people-oriented spirit in all aspects.Therefore, a research and study of Deng Zihui’s humanistic thought in agricultural work is ofvital theoretical and practical significance to promoting the great process of buildingsocialism with Chinese characteristics. Meanwhile, Deng Zihui’s humanistic thought is anachievement of combining the humanistic theory of Marxism with China’s specific nationalconditions. Therefore, a research on Deng Zihui’s humanistic thought can be said to makeslight contribution to the chinization of Marxist theory.Based on the humanistic thought of Deng Zihui, This paper is divided into the followingfour parts.The first part mainly describes the reason and the significance of the selected subject andresearch methods, while giving a definition of the “human-oriented” concept referred in thepaper.The second part analyzes the theoretical origins of the generation of Deng Zihui’shumanistic thought.Then, the paper introduces the development process of Deng Zihui’shumanistic thought in agricultural work. The theoretical origins namely, the “people-orientedthought” in traditional Chinese culture, the “humanistic thought” in the Marxist Theory, aswell as the humanistic thought-related theory in Mao Zedong.The third part describes the basic contents of Deng Zihui’s humanistic thought inagricultural work. The paper analyses and discusses the basic contents of Deng Zihui’shumanistic thought from4perspectives: establishing new agricultural production relations,emphasizing new agricultural productivity, safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests offarmers, and creating new relationship between cadres and the masses in rural districts.In combination with the characteristics of the present era, the fourth part proposes theenlightenments that Deng Zihui’s humanistic thought in agricultural work can provide fortoday’s agricultural work. The first is the enlightenment provided by mass line that cadres should follow; the second is the enlightenment provided by strengthening rural materialcivilization and protecting the all-round development of farmers’ material basis;The third isthe enlightenment provided by strengthening the building of the spiritual civilization offarmers, and achieving all-round improvement of the quality of farmers; the fourth is theenlightenment brought about by strengthening the construction of political civilization offarmers and protecting their political and democratic rights; the final enlightenment isprovided by conducting rural work by scientific methods.
