There is no doubt that the topic of what is happiness and how to be happy has increasingly aroused public concern. Whenever, individuals usually follow their own way and in accordance with the wishes of their lives to pursue happiness, meanwhile, different people put different interpretations on happiness, which leads to various understanding of happiness. This paper enriches and practices the era connotation of Marxist concept of happiness from the perspective of building a harmony society. The full text is composed of four parts: The first part comprehensively discusses the development process, characteristics, values and achieving path of the Marxist concept of happiness, as well as the development and heritage in different times; The second part involves the basic interpretation of the Marxist concept of happiness, respectively, from the following aspects: labor creation, demand, contributing; The third section explores the content era connotation of Marxist concept of happiness which produces in practice as well as is a positive concept of happiness representing common people s happiness, and which also establishes the harmonious development of society as a era goal and free and comprehensive development of human as value targets; The last part describes the era connotation of Marxist concept of happiness, including the construction of contemporary Chinese concept of happiness, to achieve personal happiness and to build a harmony society.
